Overview

The tracks are safe and easy, though a moderate level of fitness is required as we will be walking for an estimated 20-40 minutes to reach our shooting locations. We will travel at a slow pace and allow extra time to ensure we arrive on schedule.

  • Friday: If the sky is clear we go on a night hike and do some astrophotography. If the sky is not clear, we will do astrophotography theory instead (35 min walk)
  • Saturday morning: Sunrise at a beautiful lookout, golden hour at the bays on the way back. Then we will have brunch all together at one of the cafes.
  • Saturday midday: You will have some time to rest before we go through some theory of Long Exposure and Astrophotography.
  • Saturday afternoon: We will head to the Cathedral Cove to shoot sunset (long exposures among them) and we will wait until it gets dark to do some Milky Way photos.
  • Sunday morning: We will catch sunrise at the Te Pare point and then head back to have brunch, then you will have time to rest.
  • Sunday midday until 1:00pm: We will teach you and help you to edit some of your favourite photos of the weekend, then we will all go out for our last lunch together 🙂

  • The $600 price does not include accommodation and meals.
  • The $900 price includes accommodation and meals (breakfast, lunch and packed dinner).
  • Transportation is not included; I am happy to carpool and bring some of you in my car!
  • Members of the community have the benefit of doing 5 payments if they book in January (in February will be 4 payments, March 3 payments and so on).
  • Non-members can do 3 payments if they book between January and mid-February.
  • This event is weather dependent; if the weather forecast does not look good, it will be postponed to a new date (full refunds will be made if the person cannot attend the second date)
